Sawankhalok perfume bottle N° 1
Medieval Perfume Bottles – Sawankhalok, Siam (Thailand), 14th-15th Century
A small group of miniature ceramic perfume bottles from Sawankhalok, Thailand, dating to the 14th–15th century. These pieces were recovered from a shipwreck and were likely part of a trade cargo.
Each bottle shows the fine glaze typical of Sawankhalok ware. Some have traces of other ceramics fused to them, a result of kiln waste or the effects of long submersion. Minor chips and surface wear are present due to age and underwater exposure.
