A beautiful wooden Jimma plate dating from the first half of the 20th century, originating from the north-west of Ethiopia. Traditionally carved by hand from a single piece of wood, these sculptural bowls were used for serving and communal dining, and today are admired for their strong form, warm patina, and quiet presence.
