Antique ceramic bowl N° 8 - Ming
Antique ceramic bowl N° 8 - Ming
Hand-thrown ceramic bowl from China, dating to the Song dynasty period (960–1279).
The surface is now entirely bare, the original finish long worn away. What remains is the clay itself — softened by centuries, textured, mineral, almost stone-like to the touch. Traces of sediment cling to parts of the surface, as if the piece has passed through water and time before finding its way here.
The form is simple and restrained, typical of the quiet proportions associated with the period. Irregularities, small chips and surface deposits are part of its history and not considered flaws.
Today it functions as a sculptural object rather than a utilitarian bowl. Beautiful on a console, shelf or table as a grounding, elemental presence.
Each piece is entirely unique.
Dimensions: H 8 cm x D 15,5 cm.
Care: Dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
